Mitten Colored Clay is a very plastic, highly sculptable cone 6 porcelain tinted with custom blends of ceramic stains. Cone 6 Average Shrinkage 13.0%

Tips:

Colors can be wedged together to create even further customized blends. No unpredictable chemical reactions will take place. Consider purchasing white to create tints, black to create shades, and walnut to create tones.

You can connect Mitten Colored Clay to another cone 6 clay body (porcelain or stoneware), provided that it has a similar shrinkage rate. Test this before committing to it.

If you are planning to finish your colored clay with a clear glaze, try Amaco Zinc Free Clear. It is a crystal clear glaze that keeps the clay colors accurate and handles texture very well.

love the texture and colors...how do i keep them the same consistency or moist over time until i use them?

Hi Linda, glad to hear you're loving the clay! We recommend keeping your bags of clay in an airtight container. This keeps them moist much longer than the bags on their own. But if they start to feel a bit firm even with this method, you can spray them with some water and wrap them up tightly again. Let us know if you have any other questions!
